Stepping Stones

Wow, in just a few days time i will embark on a journey that will potentially make or break me. Where i'm going is the place that i get to decide what i want to do with this life that's been given to me, what's important to me, and most of all who i want to be. Right now, I can't really listen to the negative because its only the positive that will get me to the top. I call this place a stepping stone into this world of wonder, most just call is college. 

Promises 

Have you ever made a promise to someone that you know you can't keep? I'm not talking about those, "I promise I'll be your best friend forever", promises. I'm talking about those hardcore, real-to-life promises. like, "I promise to stop smoking crack," or "I promise to get my crap together." Some things are easier said than done. Now I'm not saying that is impossible, its just overwhelming. Giving someone your word, is a very serious thing that is often taken too lightly.

Hello, Hello, Hello
Hello to all those scrappy salutations
Adieus filled with elation 
Departure marked by sensation 

Hey! to all those unwanted gestures 
That mean "I have to go" with out pleasure 
Making me a victim of yet another unresolved conjecture 

But I am not afraid anymore 
Because its all apart of life 
I've finally built up the courage to say 
Hello to goodbye
